Better Homes

Better Homes and Gardens. Oh how I love thee.

Better Homes and Gardens, or BHG, as those hip to the square call it, is phenomenal. When I run to Walgreen’s I can’t help but stock up on every single home magazine they offer. And there are tons.

BHG gives me the courage to tackle a project I normally would think to be rather impossible intimidating.

So on this Wednesday I thought I would share with you some of BHG’s greatest gathering spaces.

Okay, there you have it. Six luxurious yet comfortable sitting areas. They look like harmony to me. They ooze tranquility. Basically, I want digs like this. Which room from BHG do you find to be most like you?

If you don’t know maybe you should head on over to BHG’s site and take this helpful little quiz. In 10 questions it tells you what your decorating style is most relatable to.

I am split 40% Vintage (which I identify with more)

 vintage

and 40% Formal

What were your quiz results? Tell me, tell me, tell me! Or maybe on your own you can sum up your style? Either way, I’d love to know what you associate with!

All photos curtesy of, you guessed it… BHG.

And most importantly, I know I have some readers from one of my favorite cities, Nashville. It is such a beloved city with warmth and charisma, and as you all know they are currently dealing with a lot of hardship after last weekends storms. I want my readers in the South to know you’re in my prayers.

If Nashville weren’t enough the Gulf, predominately Louisiana, is enduring a horrific oil spill. I hope we can all stick together and see the light at the end of these trying tunnels.

If there is anything I can do for you during these rough times please let me know, you’re prayed for and cared for, that’s for sure.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”- Isaiah 41:10

  3. Hi, Katie, thanks for taking time to leave a note for me! So glad you liked that beadboard wallpaper, it is some good stuff.

Cute blog you have & I'd say my style is split between vintage & formal too. Love them both.

  5. I have magazine pages like these ripped straight out and taped to my walls... people think they're the inspiration for my rooms, but they're actually my "I'm pretending I'm right there for a minute." pictures! ;) The dust of remodeling makes my mouth water looking through pics like this! Thanks for helping me "get away" today! ;) PS, left you an award on my blog today!

  7. Ohh, well I took the quiz. Apparently, I'm 60% formal, 10% French country, and 30% vintage. I sort of guessed that was how it'd turn up. :)
Love love love your blog, by the way!
