Upkeep

Today I am going to talk a little about upkeep. No not on your car, or your house. But on yourself. We as humans, or should I say: I sometimes forget to take care of myself.

Am I alone here? With a study-go-go-go-non-stop-worry week like the last one, I find myself scrutinizing my nails, my hair, and wondering when I forgot to take care of me.

I think we all do this to an extend, and as a woman I feel my best when I look my best. And yet I forget this sentiment until I am looking my best, or my worst.

I thought I would share some products I love for routine maintenance, your own "oil change" if you will...

Nail Polish. Oh how I love nail polish, I have an extensive collection, predominately OPI. If you asked my Mom she would tell you I own roughly 12 bottles that are all the same color. Clearly there is a difference between Pink Flamenco and my personal favorite Pompeii Purple.

Right now I am loving the faint metallic look on nails. Leslie was rocking a gorgeous metallic shade on her toes this weekend, and I loved it..

Or how about something more bold? It is Spring after all...

Lunch At the Dehli

Sonic Boom (Part of the Brights Collection, love them all)

Bottom line: Before putting on any color I always start off with a base coat. Preferably OPI's Ridge Filler. It doe exactly what the title says, it fill in those pesky nail ridges. And it leads to a manicured look.

And the magical option that dry those digits fast? Drip Dry. My Aunt used mine last Summer and was beyond shocked at how quickly her nail were dry. After all, after all that work to get them looking good, nothings worse than a nail polish wrinkle..

  1. Whew. I'm 30 with an 18-month-old, so it's gonna take a lot more than nail polish for my "oil change"... but not a bad start. Nice reminder!

  2. Carrie, you absolutely do not look like you have a need for an "oil change" I would never guess you to be 30 or have an 18 month old. Even your new born famiy photo leaves you looking adorable. I commend ya, lady!

  5. Comeca, you are so welcome! I hope you enjoyed your pedicure, I know how easy it is to forget about ourselves but sometimes it's just what the doctor ordered. I'm happy you were able to savor it!

    Tami,
    1. I hope you're back home safely. 2. I agree bright nail polishes match the season. Ridge filler works such wonders and gives nails that professionally manicured look. Let me know how it works! :)
