Sunless and Sun kissed

Tonight I am going to the sox game with my best friend Erin, her boyfriend Beau, and Bob. I’m really excited as it’s my first baseball game of the season. Erin and I were on the phone discussing outfits for tonight and she told me about an event going on tomorrow.

Apparently a tanning salon in a neighboring town is giving out free spray tans tomorrow. You can choose from mystic read: I once had the splotchiest tan ever from one of these devices.

or custom (my personal favorite)

I like custom spray tans more because when I’ve had them they seem more precise. I haven’t streaked and it really is a UV-free customized experience. You look tan and feel great. The smell on self tanner is never delicious but they only last a day or two anyway. Ideal for special events.

Here’s the kicker. I’m scared because they’re offering skin analyses where they will use a computer to take our photos and show us the underlying damage we have each done to our skin up to this point. Yowza! I use miracle creams to allow me to be in a state of denial over this. Denial is more than a river. Mmhmm..

Tomorrow this will not be the case.

Here is an example of what I can be prepared to see

Will I share this photo with you? Honestly that really depends on the results. But making this appointment abruptly got me from laying out. And all they ask? A donation for Skin Cancer Research.

  1. That seems like such a great way to raise awareness of sun damage! I'm looking forward to seeing how it all turns out for you : )

  2. Sounds like fun - the game, spray tan and all! Good for you for taking care of your skin. It's worth it. :)

  3. Gemma, thank's so much. I agree, it really is a terrific way to gain exposure (no pun intended) and raise awareness for skin precautions.

Heidi, Thank you! Have you ever spray tanned?
