Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

Sometimes it’s the absence of an item that makes for a great room. I am constantly astonished at some of the great pieces and ideas people come up with to fill in for another furniture element.

I would love to hang baseball bats as curtain rods, I think that would be a great way to show off America’s summer past time.

I absolutely adore these salvages dolleys coffee tables. And the fact you could find one at a salvation shop? Even more appeal.

And my current obsession in decorating? Tree Stumps as end tables. Talk about bringing the rustic indoors!

What unusual ideas inspire you?

  1. I love the idea of using things that aren't for their intended purpose, but making them functional in the end. I recently found a wall hanging mirror/coat rack that we are going to hang above our dining room table. I'll post pictures soon. :)
