Letters to me

Hey Kate,

Just your self here stopping in to give you a little pep talk. About transitioning, it's important you realize how imperative changes in life are. If we didn't change we would plateau and nothing new and incredible would ever happen. You need to stop letting fear guide you. Fear is weakness and fear is the absence of faith. Fear is the enemy. You are way too posh to have fear set the guidelines in life. If you let fear take over:

  • You'd have never started the job of your dreams.
  • You'd have never had the patience to wait 3 full years for Handsome to realize you're the only girl for him.
  • You'd never have gone away to college or joined a sorority or countless other life changing adventures.

Principally speaking parents are correct. They are like wise sages that insure our safety and protection, yet sometimes they too speak out of fear. And that is when you need to realize it's okay to cut the cord and follow your own heart.

In the words of the dear C. Bradshaw:image

“Maybe the past is like an anchor holding us back. Maybe you have to let go of who you were to become who you will be.”

  1. The other day I had a long conversation with my sister about fear. It is SO restricting. I really believe that those who are successful and those who are living their dreams have found some way to overcome that fear. I loved reading this post.

  2. I think we all struggle with fear from time to time. Today, I was totally stressing over something, to the point of making myself sick. It was such a silly thing too. I think it's so important to acknowledge it, talk about it and face it head on. Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing this. God Bless!
