Quarter of a Century

Today is my quarter of a century birthday. I am twenty five years old and in an effort to get my readers to learn more about me I thought I would share some random and often strange facts about me. Here’s hoping you’re as quirky as I, your Design Apprentice.

1. I was born two months premature and my mom actually went into labor Christmas day of 85, and had to remain until she had me. Talk about being antsy to start this crazy life.
2. I learned my real name is Kathleen and insisted on going by it for all of kindergarten only to hate it and again go by Katie in first grade. It's odd when someone still calls me Kathleen.
3. I can't stand not having nail polish on my toes, a pedicure is a requirement at all times.
4. I love ranch dressing but am very selective on which ones I approve.
5. I say birthday birday, and have no problems with this speech faux pas.
6. I can't go into Sephora without buying at least 2 to 3 products.
7. I think I have a gluten allergy, just like my mother, but have been to stubborn to cut out those delicious carbs.
8. I've always wondered what it would be like to be blonde but don't think I could pull it off.
9. I acted in theatre my entire childhood and the stage is still the one thing that makes me positively giddy.
10. I still want head shots and an agent to "live my dream"
11. If i could I would take a bubble bath and ready during it every night.
12. I have an obsession with Dashboard Confessional.
13. People have told me I look like Natalie Portman, Lacey Chabert, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Sandra Bullock. I enjoy these comparisons.
14. I could eat pasta or steak daily if my metabolism was a bit quicker.
15. I physically can't run. In grade school I was always at the back of the line with the bigger girls. I would love to be able to and have tried doing couch-2-5-k.
16. I weighed 80 pounds starting high school and 98 starting college. Today's weight will remain withheld.
17. I am a stickler with manners. I've been known to ask both Handsome and even my own mother if they remembered to say thank you to someone.
18. I wish people lived like the olden days where men wore top hats and had to come calling on women.
19. I would absolutely love to be a stay at home Mom and instill those good conservative values in my kids before they can walk.
20. I want a BIG family. Growing up with one sister always made me wish there were more siblings to have around.
21. My Mom is one of my best friends and so many nights I'd rather stay in with her, a bottle of wine, and an old movie than go out in the city.
22. I idolized my cousin Tara since birth and literally wanted to be her. We're incredibly close, she even named her second daughter Molly Kathleen. Kathleen, for me.
23. My two favorite snack foods are ice cream and popcorn.
24. Things I always want more of but never remember to tell people are dress socks and stud earrings.                                                                                                                                       25. I met both Handsome and my closest girl friends through church functions in high school.

  1. Your cute I liked all these. Happy Birthday!! That was a long time your mom was in the hospital to still be born 2 months early!

I like the stud earrings and dress socks. I've been on a HUGE dress sock kick. Target has the best ones they are like $1 and they are super cute. But then again I think that's just cute socks.

  2. Happy "birday" you pretty lady! I love your comments about wanting to be a stay at home Mom and have a big family! So far, I LOVE being a's hard work, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. And the best part is that I get to stay at home with my little guy. :)
