Forget Picasso

Forget Picasso, Yours Truly, The Design Apprentice shares her art…

When I was a little girl, I remember when people would ask me, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

I used to proudly respond, “I’m going to be an actress, a ballerina, and an artist.”

I remember people would say that you can’t possibly be three things at once and it would only fuel me on more. No one would tell me what I can or can’t do, not even at 5.

At 25, I realize I can’t provide the full time attention I would love to my other passions, but I can certainly turn them into hobbies and pursue them with the adoration I had as a 5 year old.

Recently, I’ve been looking at others artwork and thought, I can do that. So with oil paints, some blank canvases, and a bottle of Riesling I have armed myself with artistic passion.

And then there’s our family room view, which I’ve yet to grow sick of… 077

As for the rest of our home? I sure hope to share more with you soon, but I’ve found that decorating your own home takes such a long time to complete before you feel there is perfection. Perhaps the beauty lies in the lack of perfection.
