I was talking to my cousin Jame the other day about le housing situation. It seems she is looking for a perfect place to live and considering our grandparent’s home. They recently moved into an assisted living facility and their home is now sitting there waitin’, wishin’. Her parents suggested she move in and I strongly encourage this idea.
Well it seems that a lot of people are moving into their grandparents old homes. It’s often to save money and for those rare people out there, it’s also to have the adventure of bringing a home back to life. We’re in the worst economy our generation has seen and if there is a win-win opportunity for all parties involved, why wouldn’t we take it?
I joked with Jamie, “Welcome to hopping on the Grandwagon.” It’s a rather exhilarating place to be. We’ve been spackling like no body's business and I love it. I love it because I’m making a home for the man I love and myself and it’s completely done to what we like, with his father’s approval of course. It’s so nice to have family’s blessing and to be able to create a great situation for everyone. We move in in 2 weeks and I am so excited. I have literally been obsessing over everything from covering extension cord wires to if a buffet is better as a buffet or turned into a dresser.
Either way, It’s fun to jump on the grandwagon, but remember this is not your grandmother’s house.
